01 Jan Swami Nikhilanand
Swami Nikhilanand was born in a small village in Canada. Since childhood, he was curious about God and felt inspired to seek a deep connection with the Divine. This desire led him to explore many traditions, philosophies and types of meditation in early adulthood. Eventually, he was fortunate to study in India in the ashrams of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj. There, he learned meditation in the bhakti tradition, as well as Hindi, and the essence of the prime Sanskrit scriptures. In 2003, he received the renounced order of sanyas (monkhood). Since then, he has been lecturing on the philosophy of Hinduism at venues all over the United States, including high schools, universities, book stores, yoga studios, churches, temples, and interfaith gatherings. He enjoys the opportunity to interact with people of different ages and diverse beliefs and backgrounds, and is skillful at presenting the complexities of Hindu philosophy in an elegant, simple way. He prefers interactive sessions, and encourages questions of all kinds. He resides at Radha Madhav Dham ashram in Austin.
